FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Ouray County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Missing/Overdue Party from City of Ouray
The Ouray County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Gerardo “Jerry” Tarango, a resident of Ouray and an employee at the Ouray Riverside Resort. Mr. Tarango was last seen before departing on a short vacation on February 26 and was due to return to work on March 7, 2026. He has not been heard from since.
Efforts are underway, in collaboration with surrounding law enforcement agencies in Colorado and neighboring states, to determine Mr. Tarango's current location. Currently, there is no indication that he remains within Ouray County or the state of Colorado.
An Attempt to Locate (ATL) and a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) alert have both been issued through our network of law enforcement partners. Mr. Tarango’s vehicle is described as a Dark Gray 2008 Ford F350 with a box-style camper and door on the back of the truck, with a Colorado license plate DGZ-247. We urge anyone with information regarding Mr. Tarango's whereabouts to contact the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office immediately through WestCO Dispatch at 970-249-9110.
